Confess to the Syntax of Spider’s Web
Excerpts from my MA research, that follows an inquiry into the proliferation of the computer-generated image, and how this tool is a continuation of the system in which it is born. More specifically, exploring how this mode of image representation continues upon the Western segregation between man and nature, and the former's mastery over the latter. Within a frictionless space, natural laws are controlled and time is altered by will. A flower never wilts. Can CGI instead become a tool for healing this rupture? Is it possible to unroot the technology from its linear trajectory and to be used to look back and collectively imagine alternate futures?
